The vision of the European Union is that Europe will lead global innovation in production. With this mission, EIT Manufacturing HUBs were established throughout Europe to bring together all stakeholders working in production area and support them through education, networking and innovation projects.
In 2020, the University of Zagreb became the EIT Manufacturing Hub for Croatia, and since 2021, the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture has entered into a partnership with the University in the implementation of the EIT Manufacturing project.

Consortium
Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture (FMENA)
It is one of the constituents of the University of Zagreb, a public and a scientific research institution. FMENA is the largest scientific and educational institution in the field of mechanical engineering, shipbuilding and aeronautics in the Republic of Croatia and one of the most respected technical faculties in Croatia. Since 2021, FMENA has been actively participating in the implementation of the EIT Manufacturing HUB Croatia project.

The Center for Research, Development and Technology Transfer of the University of Zagreb (CRDTT)
CRDTT was established in 2010 with the aim of strengthening the coordination of technology transfer activities and the management of research and development projects at the university level. The University of Zagreb is the oldest and biggest university in South-Eastern Europe.
Our Activities
EIT manufacturing Innovation Challenge
Within the EIT Manufacturing Innovation Challenge, selected Croatian manufacturing companies will define a challenge from their business, which will later be addressed by startup teams who will propose a solution. The company that defined the challenge will eventually choose the best solution.
EIT Manufacturing for Sustainable Growth
This activity will address engagement with policy makers on two levels: 1) Engaging with cities/local government and resident manufacturing industry to better understand their joint needs, and to facilitate development of policy and other solutions that would enhance contribution of manufacturing industry to the local communities. 2) Engaging with national level policy makers to increase understanding of the importance of manufacturing innovation in reaching economic and environmental goals and to enable stronger EIT Manufacturing participation in policy development.
Network development and growth
We are supporting the increase of awareness about EIT Manufacturing in the local manufacturing innovation ecosystem and aim to develop new ties and partnerships between the local community and the wider EIT Manufacturing networks.
Promoting opportunities and celebrating successes
Within the EIT Manufacturing community, there is a large number of different opportunities for Croatian companies, so our goal is to present all these opportunities to interested stakeholders in the field of production so that they can make the best use of them.
